This year marks the 44th anniversary of the formation of the quintet, which also made its debut at the Shinjuku Pit Inn 44 years ago. We have been particular about the double wind formation all these years. In 2000, we were invited to perform at the Art Blakey Legacy Concert in New York and was named JJM after that. We are pursuing our own originality while keeping the bop style consistently. We aim to be a band worthy of being called the Jazz Messengers of Japan.
