The Opening Night: The phonolite marks the 17th anniversary of its formation. I would like to express our deep thanks to the wonderful members of the ensemble. Thanks to you all, I have been enjoying fantastic results. At first, I did not know what exactly I should do, so I just elaborate on the arrangements to create stories, or composed a score only roughly so we could emphasize improvisational nature, etc. With such trial and error, I am gradually finding the possibilities to make something interesting happen in the mixture of these elements. The Second Night: The phonolite strings have been renewed their repertoire and the compositional styles in the several years. Also, in addition to Yuko and Orie who have been supporting our ensemble as a wonderful string section for many years, we will have Ohta and Sugawa who are specialists in improvisation, to present a highly improvisational, aggressive yet elegant and beautiful world of the string quartet. The Third Night: My duo with Kato, which I originally started with the intention of complete improvisation, gradually began to play my original tunes. We converted this duo into a unit with Yoshigaki. Thanks to this trio, I was confident that I could go anywhere as long as I have it visualized while performing the compositions with an intense feeling of improvisational elements. Gush! has been evolving all the time, changing its shape. Naturally, it became my 3DAYS in which we pursue the area between the ensemble music and improvisation. Please come to see us!
