Formed by inheriting the spirit of the predecessor band that featured the late Fumio Karashima, the group was established by Ikeda with musicians one or two generations younger than himself. Centered around original compositions, they deliver flexible, wholehearted straight-ahead jazz. This time, they'll also weave in songs from their upcoming collection of standard numbers, scheduled for release this spring.
