Thanks to everyone, I was able to celebrate my 60th birthday at the end of last year. I love the number 6, which can be divided by 2 or 3. And I feel like I've been rejuvenated by the reset number 0.
On the first day, we will be presenting Ortance, an alternative three-piece band that plays alternative club rock and has been captivating fans for eight years since its formation. Enjoy the shared aesthetics and the “unspoken” communication of the three musicians, who are becoming more and more powerful: Masayasu Tsuboguchi, who directs music with his unique sense of harmony and tone; Shuta Nishida, who is at the forefront of kaleidoscope effects; and Kazuya Oi, whose subtraction-based thinking shines through.
The second day's Textures is a separate unit of the Masayasu Tsuboguchi Trio MⅢ, which released an album last year. With the addition of 'Jazz Master' Kazuaki Yokoyama, 'Afro-Latin Master' Gen Ogimi and key figure in the Hokuriku jazz scene Tomo Nakayama, Tsuboguchi's pianism and his particular groove and texture will be fully expressed. There will also be a DJ set during the intermission.
On the third day, we will invite Yosuke Yamashita, who was a big influence on us when we were in high school and who introduced us to the world of jazz, to perform again. We hope you enjoy this rare and lively keyboard duo performance, featuring Yamashita's originals, improvisations and standards.
I feel honored to be able to spend three days with people I love and respect, whether they are young, the same age as me, or much more seasoned than me.
