The Australian Art Orchestra (AAO) is Australia's leading creative music ensemble. The AAO creates new works that reflect the diversity of jazz and improvised music artists and arts in the Asia-Pacific region. Pianist and composer Aaron Choulai, who has lived in Tokyo for 15 years, returns to Japan as AAO's Artistic Director to present three different original projects over 3 DAYS with special guests at Shinjuku Pit Inn. The program includes AAO's First Nations (indigenous) artist-in-residence and young singer/songwriter Bumpy, who is gaining worldwide attention, Tokyo-based MCs Kojoe and Hikaru Tanaka, and renowned Australian improvisers. Led by Aaron Choulai, AAO is at the forefront of Australian creative music, representing the shared community, culture and traditions of Australian and Asian music. The AAO will celebrate its 30th anniversary with three performances by Australia's premier ensemble, offering an exciting new expression of jazz from Australia and the Oceania region.
