Santiago Vazquez is coming to Japan!

Santiago Vazquez, an Argentine musician who has been presenting a new form of improvised performance using a sign system that has been attracting attention in recent years through the activities of percussion groups such as el tempo and La Sanas, will visit Japan. While it is still not well known in Japan, improvisation using various forms of sign systems has a history of about 50 years in the world, and is even taught in music universities, especially in Europe. Among the many sign systems, Santiago's sign system, which emphasizes rhythm and groove, has been highly acclaimed in Europe and Japan in recent years, particularly influencing percussion ensembles. Santiago is also one of the most talented musicians of the so-called "Argentine Acoustic School," who has presided over various groups from "Puente Celeste," which became a hot topic in the early 2000s, to the current "PAN". This time, during his visit to Japan, in addition to a workshop using a signing system by Conduction, he will also be touring live with his longtime friend Yasuhiro Yoshigaki. Vazquez and Yoshigaki's project, which previously released an album under the name Anima Mundi, will tour under the name Arcana Mundi, as there is a Cuban progressive band of the same name.
In Tokyo, the concert will feature musicians who have performed with Santiago during his visits to Japan over 2006, 2018, and 2019.
