When I first started appearing at Pit Inn half a century ago, I felt that the staff were my seniors in the jazz world, so I was unable to talk to them much. On days when I felt I couldn't play the guitar well, I would turn my head down and leave without even saying hello, feeling sorry for them. I was sincerely happy that some of the staff would occasionally encourage me or give me a pep talk. That initial feeling is still at the foundation of my heart even now, 50 years after my first performance. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to perform at Shinjuku Pit Inn to commemorate the 50th anniversary of my musical career. The musicians I asked to perform this time are mainly those who have performed with me over the past few years and who have left a lasting impression on me or moved me. We look forward to seeing you.
