This year marks the 50th anniversary of my music career, and I am happy to be able to perform 2 Days of commemorative live at this Shinjuku Pit Inn. I hope to have a great time with the members I have been playing with for many years, including songs from my new solo CD “My Songs” released in August this year, as well as my own compositions from the NORIKI Band days of yore. - Soichi Noriki

Soichi Noriki celebrates 50 years of performing this year.
The long-awaited third solo piano album with renowned producer Kiyoshi Ito was released on August 6. To celebrate the release of 'My Songs', they will be having a 2-Day Special Live on October 16th and 17th.
The album 'My Songs' features original compositions by leading jazz pianists such as Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, and Herbie Hancock, as well as Sadao Watanabe's signature song “My Dear Life” following the first and second albums. Based on an arrangement written for Joe Cocker by Richard Tee, one of Noriki's favorite pianists, and dedicated to Tee, including “You Are So Beautiful” and Adele's Grammy-winning song “Easy on Me". This album is for all music fans, not just jazz fans.

"Around 1973, I heard Keith Jarrett's “Facing You” at my favorite Jazz cafe in Kyoto, and I was so shocked that I immediately went to a record store, bought the LP, and listened to it every day. After that, I was deeply moved by Keith's divine performance of “Solo Concerts / Bremen, Lausanne” and immersed myself in his music. He was the kind of musician that I also aspired to be someday. Since then, I have listened to many of Keith's albums and attended his concerts, but for me, the albums “Facing You”, “My Song”, “Standards Vol. 1 and 2” has become like a bible for me. I especially like “Questar” and “My Song” from the album “My Song” and really wanted to record them myself." - Soichi Noriki
