This is the 17th year of our winter 3DAYS. On the first day, as usual, just the three of us. The second day's guest program will feature two multi-phonic saxophonists. Kei Matsumaru, whose activities have been dazzling in recent years, and Junji Hirose, who has not performed with Altered States in a long time! Altered States welcomes these two unique saxophonists. The final day will be the first "Reproduction Project" in 12 years. The challenge will be, surprisingly, the classic live film "Stop Making Sense" by Talking Heads. Many people must have been influenced by this film at the time. We were among them. Surprisingly, Talking Heads also seems to be immensely popular among a much younger generation than ours, and I met several Talking Heads fans here and there this summer. Their unique sound, a fusion of new wave and Fela Kuti, is shocking and wonderful to listen to now. I came up with the idea for the project early this year and promptly offered it to Koichi Makigami. With his willing consent, further members were organized - Kazuto Shimizu, NUDY LINE (cho), Izpon (per), and last but not least, Seiichi Yamamoto! By the way, did you know that this live film was directed by Jonathan Demme?
