This year I turned 55 and have been playing the drums for 40 years. I am able to continue performing despite my chaotic lifestyle thanks to my mother, who passed away suddenly last year, and my family. Thank you all so much.
The Pit-In Summer 3DAYS started the year after my father passed away, so if I count, it's been about 20 years now. I always think, “This will be the last year,” but I am grateful to Pit-In for giving me opportunities and challenges every year. Mr. Yoshitake, the owner of PIT IN, said something like, “You're like the fourth batter at PIT IN.” I guess I won't be able to quit for a while.
The first day will feature ICTUS TRIO, making their debut at this 3DAYS event.
Centered around Masabumi Kikuchi's spirit, the trio will perform a variety of tunes by Carla & Paul Bley.
On the second day, we will reorganize last year's popular Improvisation Night.
We will transform the mysterious and noisy background into avant-garde pop colors.
And of course, the final day will feature the Takehiro Honda Tribute Band.
In April, we performed in China, where we thrilled Chinese audiences with a rock concert-like performance alongside powerful members of the band.
This special three-day event at Pit-In.
We will do our utmost to perform and share the true essence of Tamaya Honda, so please come and join us! See you at Pit-In!
