Two projects led by James, who moved his base to Japan last year. Ancient Highballs is a genre-defying band that mixes pop, jazz, classical and improvised music, and the Trombone Quintet, which is made up of five trombone players, will deliver a special musical experience.
The Ancient Highballs night will feature a set list like a treasure chest, including James’ beautiful and elaborate yet comical songs, as well as the mellow song arrangements of the members, including Ermhoi (vo).
The Trombone Quintet will be performing a program of James’ contemporary classical music, with improvisation, and an afternoon immersed in the deep, warm sound of the trombone. This time, there will also be a collaboration with Mei Oki (vo), performing songs arranged for the trombone quintet!
