Satoko Fujii Tokyo Trio was formed in August 2019 and released their debut CD "Moon on the Lake" in 2021, while their activities were delayed by the Covid pandemic. In 2022, the trio toured Europe for the first time, performing at the Tampere Jazz Happening festival in Tampere, Finland, where the British jazz magazine Jazzwise praised the trio's "exceptional individuality and unity in a telepathically linked trio ensemble. It was the highlight of the festival." In 2023, they plan to release their second album recording "Jet Black" in January 2024. The trio's performance is fearlessly sharpened, with explosive dynamics that defy the conventional notion of what a piano trio is supposed to be.
