Souran Bushi celebrates and frantically plays 1800 original tunes by leader Nonaka Goku, ranging from free jazz, rock and roll, dodompa, chanchiki, minyo (traditional folk songs), enka, Hawaiian, Monbusho Shoka (songs authorized by the Ministry of Education), reggae, mambo, tango, cha cha cha, rumba, and many more. They stand for the phrase, "Beating fool, blowing fool. Both are the same fool, so why don't you just play?"
